My husband and I did the 4 hour Georgetown Loop package and had the best time. The train was awesome, but Joel’s personality, knowledge and overall experience is what made our trip truly amazing. Everything about this tour was fantastic! Our guide Joel was absolutely outstanding. He picked us up at our hotel in Breckenridge and drove us through the mountains, first to the Northern Divide, the highest point in North America, and then to the train ride. It was so wonderful that we didn't have to drive there. I do not like to drive on narrow roads up or down mountains, so it was fantastic to leave the driving to Joel. Joel was not only a great driver ,but he shared many interesting facts about the region we were driving through. He had everything covered, from offering us chewing gum to help our ears from 'popping" in the altitude to taking photos of us and a video of us on the train as well! He will send them to us, with no extra charge! He offered many other surprises as well. We will remember this tour for many years to come and when we return to Colorado, we will take this tour again! We took the 8 hour tour today which included picking us up from the condo, which was a nice touch. The driver, Joel, did a fantastic job from beginning to end. He took a lot of time doing personal touches which we didn't expect...I'm not going to go into details as I don't want to spoil the experience for others. He's very knowledgeable of the area and any question you had, he new the answer and then some. It was a little pricey, but you know, what we now have to take home is totally worth it. Yes, you can go directly to the train station and pay $35...but we are going to go home with many more memories then those paying the $35 rate! AND on this tour, we met another couple today which made today great fun. Overall, this tour was fun, relaxing, learned so much about this area....I would absolutely recommend this tour.
